The experience of time in nature, wandering with focus, things that are alive or maybe lost and found color the work of Sarah Greer Mecklem. Wet Dog and Visiting Dog, illustrated her response to the appearance of a stray dog at the printing studio, another thing lost or found.
Involved in the exchanges we make over time with our natural landscape, Sarah has created a long term installation with objects and texts at the vestigial Overlook Mountain House near Woodstock, NY. Her work is widely exhibited in the Hudson Valley and beyond. She does creative arts therapy at a residential program for adults with developmental disabilities in Poughkeepsie, NY. Sarah has long been socially active and ecologically engaged. For ten years in New York City, she was the director of Community Art Programs for the Goddard-Riverside Community Center.
