Thursday was made in three states by re-ordering the layers of the same colors.
Richard Tobias has worked extensively with grids in his paintings. Thursday was printed in three states, each with three color areas plus black and white lines. The blue, rose, and peach areas were printed in various orders to produce three sets of secondary tones. The black and white lines were also flipped. The three states have purple, beige, or fuchsia casts.

Tobias returned to make more prints the following summer in 1987. He produced Red Right Returning and editions of small untitled prints which utilized his drawing practice.
